Anyone who has bothered to create a website has come across the three word term Search Engine Optimization, it’s the quickest, most inexpensive way to bring organic traffic to your website.
Now, social media does not exactly work in the same way. Flooding a Facebook fan page or a Twitter timeline with keywords isn’t going to help you much organically.
Twitter offers their ‘trending topic’ which is basically this, a tweeter enters a hashtag (#) and follows it with the trending topic (for example: #thingswedidwhenwewerekids).
This strategy has been used by many innovative companies to create awareness to new products, tv shows, albums and movies, but really does little for the actual brand’s twitter following. Unless the company itself happens to be the trending topic (which we’ve actually done, organically).
This is where Social Media Optimization hits it’s stride and comes into play by knowing the product and knowing the audience… Knowing what’s new from what’s old, what’s classy versus what’s been played out. What will get your brand mentioned (and remembered) versus what will get your brand ignored.
Knowing the world of social media inside out is our job, not yours. We will present you with our ideas, along with our best practices, along with estimated outcomes and our proposed reactions to those possible outcomes. Everything social is of the moment and when an audience is engaged with your brand and in a buying state of mind (which they are if they’re interacting with your brand in that moment) that’s when your optimization will convert into paying customers.
